AT OUR PRODUCTION FACILITIES AND BEYOND

Sustainable production

We are committed to offering our customers top-quality products made in Austria from locally sourced raw materials:

Austrian Ingredients

97% of all our ingredients come from Austria.

Regional Suppliers

85% of our ingredients are sourced from suppliers within a 45 kilometers (27-mile) radius of our production site.

For example, essential high-quality ingredients such as wheat flour are supplied by the Haberfellner Mill in Grieskirchen (Upper Austria), and our highest-quality “tea butter” with the AMA seal of quality is delivered straight from the nearby Berglandmilch dairy in Wels (Upper Austria).

Sustainable recycling

Our production processes are constantly optimized to reduce the proportion of unsaleable food to a minimum. We cannot, however, completely rule out overproduction or the possibility that some end products may not live up to our aesthetic standards.

This is why we have been working with the foodsharing program "Linz Land" since November 2020 and passing on any surplus as a food donation. So far, we have delivered 35 shipments to date, each with up to 20 pallets of products. These are distributed to schools, preschools, after-school programs, food banks, grocery stores for low-income families, and the foodsaver refrigerators that have been placed throughout the region.

Sustainable packaging

We aim to prioritize renewable raw materials such as cardboard for packaging. Food hygiene regulations mean that we cannot reduce our use of plastics to zero – but we do limit their use to the areas that are in direct contact with food. We also prioritize packaging made of recyclable materials in these areas. This allows us to meet the required barrier properties for a long shelf life and optimum quality of our products, while at the same time minimizing our use of plastics.
